Our Programs

Our programs focus on making our community flourish. We hope you enjoy their impact as much as we enjoyed creating them.

A recovery program for women overcoming substance abuse and homelessness that helps women achieve sobriety while maintaining a job and housing.  The program offers housing with supportive services such as addictions counseling, money-management training, case management, wellness classes, and community meals.

A comprehensive program that uses art as a catalyst for social change, as a tool for empowerment, and an alternative to the dangers of drugs and violence in the community. Jubilee Arts provides classes to adults and children (in ceramics, visual arts, dance, and business) four days a week with four annual semester sessions. The program also offers cultural activities and serves approximately 2,500 people annually.

A program that operates an urban farm, provides workforce development, and serves citizens returning to the community from incarceration. The farm entails 14 greenhouses totaling 1.5 acres, addresses community food apartheid issues, and offers employment to community residents.

The work of Intersection of Change to date has resulted in significant revitalization of the 1900 and 2000 blocks of Pennsylvania Avenue through the full renovation of six previously vacant and dilapidated buildings, transformation of 18 vacant lots into community green spaces and meditative gardens, and creation of three dozen neighborhood murals. Additionally, the program has converted 1.5 acres of vacant lots into an urban farm.
